I was booked for a gig for 100 people and thought it would be a good  chance  to take out the new EV  zxa1 sub thinking that it's not a powerful machine but it would  probably  do the job since I was including the sub in addition to 2 1000 W Mackie SRM 450  v3.
After I got to the venue, I  found  that this venue was a community hall that could actually hold roughly 250- 300 people in it but for my  this event  they had  had about 100 people and it was not sectioned off. After setting up the entire sound system I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by all accounts.
I  walked around the room a few times leaving the song playing during background music time and once during the dance time just to catch the feel of the the beat that this sub woofer was creating.  In a live running  situation  you are able to hear an audible difference when using the zxa1 sub
I would not recommend it to you as a single sub  for a big room, a pair of them- maybe .
Had the room been sectioned off to fit 100 people ,  one of these was sufficient

Lastly  I want to note that the The box and case is not 100% roadworthy you need a cover for it not to scratch  up.
